Renault Trucks‘ score of 78 marks a 15-point improvement since its first Gold certification in 2018, solidifying its leadership in corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Renault Trucks Received a Perfect Score in the Environment Category

For the sixth consecutive year, Renault Trucks has received the prestigious Gold certification from the independent organization Ecovadis. With a score of 78 out of 100, the French truck manufacturer now ranks within the top 5% of evaluated companies.

In 2024, Ecovadis assessed 130,000 international companies across 21 criteria, grouped into four key areas: Sustainable Procurement, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Environment.

Renault Trucks‘ score of 78 marks a 15-point improvement since its first Gold certification in 2018, solidifying its leadership in corporate social responsibility (CSR). Ecovadis praised the company’s advanced management system for addressing both ethical and environmental challenges.

Perfect Score in the Environment Category

For the third year in a row, Renault Trucks achieved a perfect score of 100/100 in the Environment category, recognizing the company’s sustained efforts to minimize the environmental impact of its operations and vehicles.

Renault Trucks manufactures electric trucks at its Blainville-sur-Orne and Bourg-en-Bresse factories. These trucks, operated by transport companies, have collectively traveled 25 million kilometers, preventing 24,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. This dedication to promoting decarbonized mobility played a key role in Renault Trucks securing the maximum environmental score.

The company is also taking significant steps to reduce the environmental impact of its industrial sites. A prime example is the ongoing project to install 17 hectares of photovoltaic canopies at its Bourg-en-Bresse site by 2026. The solar installation will generate electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of 17,500 residents, with part of the energy used on-site.

Additionally, Renault Trucks is implementing water conservation measures at its various locations. Over the last 10 years, the company has successfully reduced the water required to produce a truck from 12 m³ in 2013 to 6.5 m³ in 2023.

Enhancing Ethical Practices

Renault Trucks continues to bolster its responsible purchasing practices, evaluating 93% of its first-tier suppliers on criteria including human rights, working conditions, environmental impact, and business ethics. Suppliers are held to a stringent code of conduct, with regular audits and self-assessments fostering continuous improvement.

In 2023, the company further strengthened its supplier evaluations, making responsible purchasing a core part of its overall strategy. These efforts have contributed to a score of 70/100 in the Ethics category, a 10-point improvement over the previous year.

As road freight transport accounts for 7% of Europe’s CO₂ emissions, Renault Trucks, with over 70,000 vehicles sold worldwide each year, recognizes its critical role in reducing its environmental footprint and is committed to ongoing efforts in this area.
