The 18th edition of Automechanika Shanghai, which held from 29th November to 2nd December 2023, celebrated a triumphant return with a remarkable 16 per cent increase to reach a total of 185,284.
Automechanika Shanghai 2023 Attracts 5,652 Exhibitors
The international representation grew by 19 per cent, with players representing 177 countries and regions like Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, and the UAE (amongst the highest representation).
Featuring 5,652 exhibitors from 41 countries and 16 pavilions from France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the UK, and the US. The event showcased innovations and upgrades across the automotive supply chain. Attendees praised the emphasis on innovation and the organised networking opportunities, connecting domestic and foreign buyers and suppliers.
The 2023 Automechanika Shanghai was a dynamic convergence of the automotive supply chain, fostering marketing, trade, knowledge sharing, and education. Attendees praised the organized networking opportunities, exhibition tours, and other services that facilitated connections between foreign and domestic buyers and suppliers. Local participants gained insights into foreign markets, while international attendees developed a comprehensive understanding of the domestic automotive industry.
The show floor activities and fringe events promoted collaboration and a shared vision for a sustainable future. For example, the Innovation4Mobility Showcase delved into key pockets of the supply chain; Four Showcase Areas included the Innovation4Mobility Mainstage, Future Mobility Area, Green Repair Area and Customising x Tech Area. The concept revolved around the interplay between digitalisation, connectivity, sustainability, new energy, and aftermarket services, stemming from the growing demand for new mobility solutions and environmental protection in the automotive industry.
The concurrent fringe programme featured 77 fringe events over the course of four days, including the debut of the International Automotive Industry Conference 2023 Presented by Automechanika Shanghai. This conference series (including one main conference and five related events) covered all the major global automotive forecasts, policy updates and opportunities moving into 2024 and beyond.
The successful gathering marked the first in-person reconnection of global buyers and suppliers in Shanghai since 2019, focusing on electrification, connectivity, and sustainability.
The show received vast attention from both the trade and mass media, with viewership surpassing the 40 million marked in domestic and overseas channels.
