FM Global Logistics Acquires 20 Scania Super Trucks to Reach ESG Goals

Six of the 20 units of the Scania Super Euro 5 Trucks ordered by FM Global Logistics have been delivered on February 20.

Scania Super Is Currently the “Most Advanced and Efficient” Scania Truck

Scania and FM Global Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd (FM) celebrated the delivery of six of the 20 units of Scania Super Euro 5 ordered on February 20, 2025.

The new Scania Super is considered to be Scania’s most advanced and efficient combustion-engine powertrain. The truck is engineered to meet the toughest emissions standards worldwide. FM Global Logistics’ purchase of the trucks symbolises the company’s effort to achieve its ESG goals.

Scania continues to be a trusted partner in supporting us towards achieving our ESG goals. The Scania Super will provide a fuel savings of 8% per vehicle, setting a new industry benchmark for both global and local emissions control,” stated Mr Chew Chong Keat, the Group Managing Director of FM Global Logistics.

The Scania Super‘s powertrain’s efficiency is the sum of its different components; the Scania Super 13-litre engine, Scania Opticruise gearbox, and the Scania R885 single reduction rear axle.

With this acquisition, FM Global Logistics automatically gains access to Scania Digital Services. Fleet Management System Control Package, which provides valuable insights and information about their fleet, can be accessed via My Scania portal and Fleet app to track the location of their trucks in real-time while also monitoring vehicle performance and CO₂ emissions.

Service planning, defect reporting, and driver evaluation are also parts of the system. These tools enable the identification of opportunities for vehicle usage improvements during Driver Training and Coaching.

Scania Ecolution is now also included as a standard feature with the purchase of Scania Super, according to Joyce Antar, the Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia.

“It is a tailor-made partnership with the sole purpose of maximising fleet’s fuel efficiency, reducing CO₂, Nitrogen Oxide, and Particulate Matter emissions, all to meet customers’ ESG requirements. Coupled with Scania Digital Services, we continue to build more advanced and sustainable partnerships,” she added.

FM Global Logistics has partnered with Scania since 2009 and has purchased a total of 59 Scania vehicles to date.
