Rapid Bus Introduced Three New Rapid KL On-Demand Routes

A total of ten new vans serve three new Rapid KL On-Demand routes and can be booked using the Trek Rides and MOBI apps.

Rapid KL On-Demand Available Daily for RM1.00 per Trip

Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, the operator of Rapid KL and MRT feeder bus services, officially introduced two new service zones and one expanded route for its Rapid KL On-Demand program on April 17, 2025.

According to Bernama, the two new routes connect Terminal Puchong Utama to Puchong Prima and MRT Bandar Tun Hussein Onn to Taman Desa Baiduri. Meanwhile, the Asia Jaya zone was expanded and rebranded as the PJ Sentral to Sections 7 and 17 corridor.

These routes are served by dedicated van fleets. Three vans operate in the Puchong Area via the Trek Rides app. Another three vans cover the Balakong area using the MOBI app. Lastly, four vans serve the PJ sentral zone, also available through MOBI.

For residents around Puchong, the new service offers more transportation choices and better connectivity to the Puchong Perdana LRT station. Meanwhile, those living in Balakong will benefit from improved access to the larger Rapid KL rail network through the Taman Desa Baiduri-MRT Bandar Tun Hussein Onn route.

The upgraded PJ Sentral zone, meanwhile, has more stops than the T786B route (LRT Asia Jaya to MRT Phileo Damansara) that it replaced. This enhancement is expected to provide more flexibility for current users, as well as attract new riders from the surrounding neighbourhoods.

“For these new zones launching on April 17, a total of 10 vans will be deployed. The number of vans for each zone has been determined based on demand studies and local needs,” said Ku Jamil Zakaria, Acting CEO of Rapid Bus, as quoted by Bernama.

As of March 2025, the Rapid KL On-Demand service was active in 37 zones across Klang Valley and Penang, targeting residential areas with no direct access to regular bus routes. In the same month, the service logged an average of 4,753 daily riders.

Passengers can access the Rapid KL On-Demand service by booking guaranteed seats daily from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at a promotional fare of RM1.00 per trip. Accepted payment methods include the Touch ’n Go card, debit and credit cards, the MyRapid Concession Card, the OKU Smile Travel Pass, and unlimited travel passes such as My50, MyCity, and the Family Pass.
