Armed with next-generation technology, Carrier Transicold sets ever-higher standards in refrigerated container, truck and trailer systems while reducing fuel consumption, emissions and sound levels. Its Vector 1950 trailer refrigeration unit, with E-Drive all-electric technology, features 5,600 cubic metre per hour (m3/hr) airflow that helps protect cargo with ‘unparalleled’ pull-down speeds and even air distribution. This makes it ideal for transporting sensitive goods, including food, pharmaceutical and healthcare products as well as fragile orchestral equipment and fine arts.
Carrier Transicold Unveils Vector 1950 Refrigeration Unit for Enhanced Fuel Efficiency and Payload Capacity
This Vector 1950 unit uses Carrier’s patented E-Drive all-electric technology, which removes mechanical transmissions found in belt-driven systems and transforms engine power into electricity through a generator. It features a 2.2-litre Kubota engine and delivers ‘superior’ cold chain performance while taking care of the environment and reducing total cost of ownership. Highlights include better control, a multi-temperature range and traceability solutions.
Built with less service parts, a low maintenance design and longer product life span, the Vector 1950 translates to lower cost of ownership. It is more environmentally friendly as it features the best refrigerant and was designed with high component recyclability. It is also said to perform quieter as well as with lower fuel consumption and engine emissions due to an EcoFuel function for chilled applications.
With a refrigeration capacity of 10,100W at -20 degree Celsius and 18,800W at 0 degree Celsius, the Vector 1950’s multi-temperature range gives transporters the opportunity to optimise their load and reduce the number of trailers on the road.
There are nine standard configurations, with a large choice of evaporators, and single and double airflow. Customised configurations are also available.
The Vector 1950 is also user-friendly and could work with other accessories to make transporting of goods easier and safer. Its telematics could monitor cargos status and react to deviations along the route.
In Malaysia, Container Systems (M) Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Cold Carrier) was set up in 2010 and appointed by Carrier Transicold as its sole distributor. The company is a one-stop provider for Carrier Transicold products with installation, preventive maintenance and repair services. It carries a full range of Carrier Transicold products.
Currently, the company has a branch in Simpang Pulai, Ipoh, and dealers and service centres in Kempas, Johor; Butterworth, Penang and Mentakab, Pahang. Container Systems says it could ensure fast delivery and minimum downtime as it has sufficient back-up units and spare-parts.
Immediate installation could be done for an order of 5 units and below while a waiting period of 30 days is required for shipment in excess of 5 units. The installation of a compact refrigeration system would take 1 to 2 working days while the installation of medium and heavy duty systems would take 4 working days.
The company’s products are covered by a minimum 1-year warranty and 1-year full service. It is backed by a ‘highly experienced and skilled’ technical team that receives regular training at Carrier Transicold’s regional office in Singapore.
