Castrol has launched a new Vecton commercial vehicle lubricant specially crafted for Ford Trucks vehicles.

Castrol 5W-30 F-Trucks CK-4 has been designed to meet Ford Trucks’ WSS-M2C213-A1 specification, which is based on the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA) Oil Sequences E6 and E9 standards. The new lubricant is suitable for F-Max trucks featuring Ford’s Ecotorq Euro 6 engine. The product is also compliant with API’s CK-4 specification.

The launch is aligned with Ford Trucks’ product development launch strategy for Europe, providing a reliable and efficient lubrication solution tailored to many new and established models in the brand’s commercial vehicle line-up. The product has also been tailored to meet the demands of the European market.

According to information obtained by Dana Spicer Driveline System in 2017, modern trucks can generate up to 30% higher torque, which can lead to greater engine temperatures and pressures. This can push the oil closer to breakdown and reduce its useful life and its ability to extend drain cycles. Castrol has designed Vecton 5W-30 F-Trucks CK-4 to combat these challenges with System Pro Technology, which helps deliver up to 45% extra performance reserve (EPR).

Castrol’s System Pro Technology fights oil breakdown by combating oxidation and deposits, neutralising harmful acids, controlling oil aeration, adapting to increased temperatures, and resisting viscosity loss to maintain optimal lubrication properties. These measures ensure support for extended drain intervals and enhanced engine protection under the demanding conditions modern trucks face.

Castrol Vecton 5W-30 F-Trucks CK-4 comes in a 208-litre drum and is available to order through suppliers and distributors.
