Continental Invests in New Mixing Facility to Enhance Manufacturing Process
Continental, the technology company, celebrated the inauguration of a new state-of-the-art rubber compound mixing facility at its tyre plant in Alor Setar Malaysia. Since 1979, Continental has produced passenger and light truck tyres as well as two-wheel tyres in Malaysia for the APAC market. The plant in Alor Setar currently employs more than 1000 people and would celebrate its 40th anniversary at the end of this year.
Continental invested more than RM65 million for the new mixing facility that would enhance the manufacturing process by adding state-of-the-art rubber compound mixing technology locally. Carlos Bernabe, General Manager of the tyre manufacturing plant in Alor Setar, said: “Continental’s tyres deliver safety and top performance. Quality is our top priority. Our new rubber compound mixing facility in Alor Setar would help us keep our competitive position in the global Continental manufacturing network. We deliver only the best in quality and performance tyres to our customers.” Additional benefits of the new facility include an increase in capacity and flexibility, thus strengthening tyre production and adding to the local content portfolio with ‘German Technology’ made in Alor Setar.
The newly built facility would extend production space by about 3200 square metres and its opening was officiated by Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, the Chief Minister of Kedah Darul Aman. He said: “We value the very good and trustful relationship we have built up in the past. The most recent extension is a good sign for the local community and demonstrates our region’s attractiveness to international businesses overall.”
Bernabe added: “I am very proud of my team and would like to express my sincere big thanks to our dedicated team who demonstrated the passion to win in reaching this important milestone, which was only possible through excellent effort, commitment, teamwork and collaboration with all the parties involved.”
马牌为大马工厂全新混炼设施举行开幕仪式

马牌的全新混炼设施耗资超过6，500万令吉，此尖端橡胶复合物混炼技术，将强化本地的制造过程。亚罗士打轮胎制造厂总经理贝尔纳贝（Carlos Bernabe）表示：“马牌轮胎提供安全和顶级性能。品质是我们最优先考虑的。我们的全新复合胶混炼设施将使我们在马牌的全球制造网络中保持竞争地位。我们只为客户提供最好的品质和最佳性能的轮胎。”此设施的其他好处包括提升产能和弹性，巩固亚罗士打的轮胎生产和在本地内容组合里添加德国技术。”
该新建的全新设施将生产空间扩张了3，200平方米，并由吉打州务大臣拿督斯里慕克里（Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir）主持开幕仪式。慕克里说：“我们很珍惜过去建立起来的良好和互相信任的关系。最近的扩展对本地的社区来说是个好现象，也反映了我们的整个区域对国际业务充满吸引力。”
