Hong Seng Group (HS Group) recently hosted a grand product launch at the Setia City Convention Centre to unveil the new Hohan Max Trucks and Hangcha XE Series lithium battery forklifts to an audience comprising more than 1,000 attendees.

In his opening speech, Group Managing Director Dato’ Seri Teoh Hai Hin extended a warm welcome to representatives from Sinotruk, Shacman, XCMG, Shantui, Weichai and LGMG as well as other guests. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the company’s bankers, customers and suppliers for their unwavering support.
Teoh highlighted the challenges in navigating today’s competitive landscape by emphasising the importance of hard work, strategic planning and teamwork. Drawing from the Chinese saying, ‘Three points are destined, seven points depend on hard work’, he underscored the value of perseverance and adaptability.
He reflected on global challenges, including the pandemic, trade wars and ongoing geopolitical conflicts, noting Malaysia’s favourable position with its stable politics, culture and security. Citing investment data from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Teoh shared that foreign and local investors contributed RM329.5 billion in 2023 and in 2024, it is projected to be RM350 billion. These investments, coupled with government-backed infrastructure projects, created a thriving construction and economic environment.
In closing, Teoh encouraged attendees to seize the abundant opportunities in this promising landscape and emphasised that collective efforts would help the company and its stakeholders benefit from the wave of growth and investment.
Executive Director William Teoh expressed that 2025 would be a memorable year for HS Group as it marked the 60th anniversary since his grandparents opened their first motor workshop in 1965. From a modest beginning with five workers in Butterworth, the company grew to more than 1,000 employees across Malaysia.
He shared plans to enhance service accessibility by establishing one 3S centre within every 100 kilometres. By the end of 2025, new centres would open in Seremban, Ayer Hitam and Johor Bahru with further expansions planned in Melaka, Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu.
Commitment to ESG and Sustainability
William emphasised the critical importance of adopting ESG principles, noting their growing influence on securing contracts from the government and multinational and public-listed companies. Launching the Euro 5-compliant Hohan truck and Hangcha electric forklift demonstrated the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and supporting Malaysia’s carbon reduction goals.
Looking ahead, HS Group planned to introduce more energy-efficient, low-carbon products, including heavy and light electric trucks, pick-ups and rebuilt electric commercial vehicles, which aligned with the government’s push for reduced internal combustion engine use. He expressed excitement for the industry’s transformation and the company’s role in driving sustainable progress.
The newly launched Hohan Max prime mover, according to Executive Director Eugene Teoh, redefined performance, efficiency and driver comfort. Designed to minimise operating costs without compromising capability, this latest addition to the Hohan series is said to boast a modern, stylish appearance. Equipped with two engine options, Weichai and MC, the Hohan Max offered four variants tailored to diverse transportation needs. Customers could choose from Weichai engines with 460hp or 550hp, or MC engines that were available in MC-13 (540hp) and MC-11 (430hp) variants.
“The WP13G engine stands out with its world-leading thermal efficiency of 52.28 per cent, delivering high torque at low speeds and offering impressive horsepower and smooth acceleration,” he added.
Hohan Max Redefines Performance & Comfort
Crafted with a driver-centric approach, he pointed out that the new truck featured a spacious cabin with a flat floor and 1.9-metre standing height for enhanced convenience. Its polished design eliminated exposed screws and was complemented by elegant chrome accents and advanced sound insulation for a quiet and comfortable environment. Drivers could enjoy a luxurious cabin experience, complete with a double bed and BMW-grade air-conditioning system that ensured restful comfort even during long journeys.
“Technology plays a central role in the Hohan Max with features such as a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, multifunctional controls and a multimedia system offering Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and intelligent voice command capabilities. The column shifter for AMT models enhances driving ease by allowing seamless gearchanges without taking the hands off the steering wheel. Sinotruk‘s advanced AMT system, combined with the Weichai and MC engines, ensures exceptional engine-transmission integration. In tests, the Hohan Max accelerated from 0-80km/h in just 51.2 seconds with a 45-tonne load, outperforming competing models.”
The Hohan Max also prioritises comfort and visibility. Its full air suspension system, paired with Sachs 140mm shock-absorbing airbags, ensures a smooth ride by minimising vibrations and harshness. The truck’s tall curved windshield offers a panoramic, floor-to-ceiling view to enhance the driver’s sense of space and visibility on the road.
Available in three configurations – 4×2, 6×2 and 6×4 – the Hohan Max provides versatility with options for AMT or manual transmissions.
Eugene revealed that Keat Seng Heavy Machinery Sdn Bhd took the lead as an early adopter of the Hohan Max by securing an order for six 6×4 models with 550hp.
Meanwhile, the new Hangcha XE series features a specialised structure, advanced permanent magnet synchronous motor technology and a sleek yet durable ergonomic design. Equipped with a fast-charging system, it also includes a high-efficiency speed reducer to enhance upslope performance and acceleration, ensuring durability and top-tier performance with premium components.

丰成集团（HS Group）近日在实达城市会议中心（Setia City Convention Centre）举办了一场盛大的产品发布会，向超过1,000 名与会者展示新款的豪瀚Max卡车和杭叉XE系列锂电池叉车。
集团董事经理拿督斯里张海兴在开幕致辞中，热烈欢迎来自中国重汽、陕汽、徐工、山推、潍柴、临工重工的代表及其他嘉宾莅临。他也对各银行代表、客户和供应商的坚定支持表示衷心感谢。
张海兴强调努力工作、战略规划和团队合作的重要性，还有应如何应对当今竞争格局所面临的挑战。他表示，三分天注定，七分靠努力，强调业者的毅力和适应力价值。
他也谈到了全球挑战，包括冠病大流行、贸易战和持续的地缘政治冲突，并指出大马稳定的政治、文化和安全，使它处于有利地位。张海兴援引贸工部的投资数据表示，外国和本地投资者在2023年已经投资了3,295亿令吉。2024年，预计有3,500亿令吉。这些投资，加上政府支持的基础设施项目，创造了繁荣的建筑和经济环境。
最后，张海兴鼓励与会者抓住这个充满希望前景中的商机，并强调大家的努力将帮助公司及其利益相关者从增长和投资浪潮中受益。

豪瀚Max还优先考虑舒适性和视野。其全空气悬架系统与Sachs 140mm 减震安全气囊配合，可最大限度地减少振动和声振粗糙度，确保平稳行驶。卡车高大的弧形挡风镜提供全景、从地板到天花板的视野，增强驾驶员的空间感和道路视野。
