The leading story for this issue is the introduction of three new Foton Van models – the Foton View CS2 2.0 Turbo Diesel City Van and the Foton View C2 2.0 Turbo Diesel Panel Van (two or five seaters) by Berjaya China Motor.
There are several reports on new products. The Hino new 200 series that was launched by Hino Malaysia is currently the smallest truck available in Malaysia. Also new is the updated Isuzu D-Max range for 2023 with a new radiator grille, rims and some refreshed body accents to provide a sportier and more dynamic outlook. From the bus side, we have the first ever fully built Volvo B11RLE 6×2 double deck coach. Malaysia is the only market in Asia offering the Volvo B11RLE, which is designed, built and assembled in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, MAN Malaysia shared an update on their performance in 2022, and believe that the Southern region will continue to be a key growth area for them. The company also announced that it has relocated its headquarters to Shah Alam, which will eventually house its entire operations, including vehicle assembly, under one roof.
In terms of competitions, Scania Malaysia’s Ipoh workshop team was named the winner of the Top Team Asia-Pacific Regional Finals in 2023 and is one of only 12 teams out of 1,500 teams worldwide from 70 countries that qualified for the Grand Final in Sweden.
Last but not least, we interviewed two truck tyre manufacturers – Guizhou Tyre and Techking Tire. Both of these companies are all set to grow their presence in the Malaysian market aggressively through their respective distributors in Malaysia.
