Muar-based Sin Lai Heng Workshop had been using Josam truck frame repair system for about two years. The owner, Soh Paw Hua, expressed his satisfaction during an exclusive interview with Truck & Bus News.
Simplified Truck Frame Repair with Josam Technology
“The initial investment was pretty high and it took us one year to finally make the decision to purchase the system. I would say that it was the right decision as it really speeds up our job in truck frame repair. We already plan to focus more on commercial vehicle collision repair. Without this equipment, we have to use the traditional way of using strings and rulers to measure the frame, which was very time consuming and the accuracy depended very much on experience and skill,” said Soh.
With the Josam truck frame repair system, he pointed out that it was more precise and there was no more guesswork in the strengthening process. It enhanced the accuracy of frame alignment and productivity improved significantly.
According to him, the equipment was quite easy to operate with the training provided by Manbeni Machine Tools (M) Sdn Bh, the sole distributor of Josam products in Malaysia. He also praised Manbeni for its good and prompt aftersales service.
“At present, we are able to repair 12 to 13 trucks on average per month. We have 4 tow trucks to cover Muar and nearby states and the majority of trucks are from these areas. Outside these areas, we engage third party tow truck operators to cover for us.”
Soh has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, having started as an apprentice at a workshop and decided to set up his own business after 5 years. He has two workshops; one mainly for passenger car collision repairs and another workshop nearby for commercial vehicles. Currently, he has 30 workers, including 8 technicians, for the commercial division.
Sin Lai Heng Workshop is a PIAM (Persatuan Insurance Am Malaysia) authorised workshop that specialises in insurance claims and commercial and auto collision repairs.
