Scania has delivered the first Euro V New Truck Generation (NTG) to Malaysia as part of its sustainable partnership with Xin Hwa Holdings Berhad.
Xin Hwa Holding Invests in Scania New Truck Generation Euro V
The key was handed over to Xin Hwa Holding Managing Director Ng Aik Chuan by Scania Southeast Asia Service Director Thor Brenden. Witnessing the handover was Dr Joachim Bergstrőm, the Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia.
“This Scania New Truck Generation Euro V was specified for Xin Hwa as it has the power and torque needed for their operations. We have also seen lower emissions too by using Euro V,” said Thor.
A key feature amongst Scania engine technologies in the Scania NTG Euro V R620A6X4NZ is the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system that reduces local emissions that contribute to smog and haze. Committing to the EU emission standard, local emissions are measured in Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), a toxic gas, and particulate matter (PM). An extra High-Pressure Injection (XPI) also enhances performance and fuel economy.
The R-series sleeper cab comes with a normal roof height and offers a spacious driver area enabling an optimum driving position. It has good space for storage and installing extra equipment in the cab. It can be equipped with up to two beds.
The design of this New Truck Generation has improved from the previous generation making the truck more user-friendly. There is a very comfortable adjustable driver seat that is situated closer to the door. Other features include an ergonomic dashboard and, most importantly, a large windscreen featuring an extended view. It gives clear visibility from the different angles for the drivers, which equates to a comfortable and safe environment. Safety features include the Electronic Braking System (EBS) for responsive emergency braking while the retarder provides additional braking power. The standard Opticruise gearbox gives the Scania NTG Euro V a pre-set default Economy mode for better fuel efficiency.
With Scania Financial Services, Xin Hwa will also benefit from the flexible financing solutions by Scania Credit Malaysia, providing it with predictable cost over the entire lifecycle of the truck, Thor added.
