Leo City Coach, based in Singapore, recently acquired two units of Scania New Bus Generation as the first coaches in its fleet.
The Scania New Bus Generation Offers 6% More Fuel Efficiency than the Previous Generation
Leo City Coach, a new coach transportation and tour company in Singapore, has invested in two Scania New Bus Generation coaches as the first buses in its fleet. Mr Wong Yew Hoong, Director of Leo City Coach, officially received the keys for the company’s maiden coaches from the Area Sales Manager of Scania Southeast Asia, Mr Benedict Chan.
“We may be a new player, but we draw on the experience of our partner who has operated Scania coaches under the Super Nice brand, with favourable results for more than nine years. We have chosen to go with Scania because of its reliability, safety and comfort, with further fuel economy expected from the New Bus Generation,” said Mr Wong, as quoted by Scania Singapore’s official website.
The Scania New Bus Generation coaches offer 6 per cent more fuel efficiency compared to the previous generation. At the same time, passengers’ safety are ensured thanks to the reinforced chassis and features such as the Electronic Braking System (EBS) with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control.
An upgraded suspension and a new gearbox further ensure passenger comfort, while the redesigned driver area, with a digital dashboard and enhanced ergonomics, provides drivers with better reachability, visibility, and control. In addition, the retarder which has a brake torque of 4,100Nm not only helps to improve braking power, but also lessens brake wear and prolongs the service life of the brakes.
The new single-decker Scania K370 New Bus Generation coaches for Leo City Coach are built with 27 Super VIP seats. They will be deployed initially on Singapore-Kuala Lumpur-Singapore routes
“Leo City Coach is making a good start by choosing Scania New Bus Generation for a more sustainable business operation without compromising on safety, performance and drivability,” said Mr Chan. “We look forward to supporting this fledgling business with repair and maintenance and other services as it establishes itself in the travel and tour industry.”
Leo City Coach has signed five-year repair and maintenance contracts to ensure the new coaches have the best performance, reliability, and uptime. The coaches are also supported with Scania Financial Services for more predictable costs and manageable risks over the life cycle of the coaches.
