Duromac Expects 10-15% Annual Growth

Duromac (M) Sdn Bhd, a specialist road cleaning equipment supplier and maintenance services company, is optimistic of achieving a 10-15 per cent annual growth over the next five years in line with growing public demand for a cleaner environment.
“Commanding an 80 per cent market share of the niche mecha- nised road sweeping and cleaning equipment industry, Duromac is confident of maintaining its pole position with the introduction of new innovative products, equipment and services in the near future,” said Managing Director Arul Das at the launch of the 100th unit Bucher Schoerling road sweeper for the Malaysian market in Kuala Lumpur.
The Bucher Schoerling road sweeper, which was mounted on a lo- cally assembled chassis, was known as the Duromac CityFant 60. The robust CityFant 60, according to Das, met the requirements of municipals, urban and local councils and highway operators. Its su- perstructure was a completely built-up unit (CBU) manufactured by Bucher Schoerling’s factory in Korea and fitted onto a Nissan UD Truck or any other chassis chosen by customers. It was the most versatile sweeper on the road that offered outstanding performance for every application.
In addition, there was also the CityFant 30 that came with a smaller hopper capacity of three cubic metres and was suited for sweeping urban environments, industrial estates, country roads and motorways.
The price of each CityFant road sweeper was from RM700,000 up- wards, depending on the specialised requirement and sophistication of its technology.
Duromac had been a partner of Bucher Schoerling since 1996, which was a division of Switzerland’s Bucher Group. Bucher Schoerling was the world’s leading manufacturer of municipal vehicles for efficient surface cleaning in public and private areas.
In 1998, Duromac was the first partner of Bucher Schoerling to mount its road sweeper on a locally assembled Nissan UD truck that would normally be mounted on a European-made chassis. This combina- tion of both European and Asian technologies had proven to be highly cost-efficient for its customers.
According to Das, out of the 100 units of Duromac road sweeper, 92 were mounted on UD truck chassis. “UD Trucks have been very sup- porting since day one. They have proven to be a good and trusted partner in quality, safety and service.”
