With production now under its direct control, Hino Motors was well positioned to meet the growing demand for its vehicles, which are highly regarded for their quality, durability and reliability.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hino Motors Ltd Chairman Masakazu Ichikawa said the Sendayan plant was the newest Hino Motors production facility in the world and reflected the importance of the Malaysian market as the third pillar of its operations in Southeast Asia.
“This is our third major production facility after Indonesia and Thailand in terms of capacity. It clearly demonstrates our de- sire to be the top commercial vehicle brand in this hugely im- portant market. I must congratulate the Malaysian team for ensuring that this facility meets the very high standards in our global network. The speed at which this plant was built and became fully operational is also very impressive,” he said.
According to HMMMY Managing Director Ikuo Shibano, the plant was strategically important for Hino Motors as it sought to strengthen its leadership position in the commercial vehicle segment.
“This Sendayan plant is the first step towards equipping Hino Motors with the flexibility to respond to market demands and capability to shorten the delivery lead time to our growing list of customers,” he said.
HMMMY was a 58:42 joint venture between Hino Motors Ltd and its long-time partner in Malaysia, MBM Resources Berhad.
Hino’s main competitive edge was its ability to offer a com- plete range of commercial vehicles ranging from four-wheel light commercial vehicles (LCV, HINO 300 Series), medium- heavy commercial vehicles (MCV, HINO 500 Series), prime movers (HINO 700 Series) to buses. For each model, HINO was also able to offer different chassis variants to suit different purposes.

马来西亚日野汽车制造业公司是日野汽车有限公司和其 大马的长期伙伴MBM资源有限公司的合伙企业,两家公 司各持有55和42%的股份。
