Truckcam Wheel Alignment System for Heavy Vehicles
Manbeni Machine Tools (M) Sdn Bhd has launched the TruckCam wheel alignment system from Sweden for heavy commercial vehicles. This advanced wheel alignment system is recommended by Volvo and Scania as the official wheel alignment system for their commercial vehicles at authorised dealers and workshops. With the integrated gyro and electronic incli- nometers, precise and accurate measurements are said to be guaranteed.
The system is designed for measuring all wheel angles includ- ing toe, camber, axle out-of-square, axle parallelism, castor, kingpin inclination, toe-out-on-turn and maximum turn. It can be used on all commercial vehicles such as trucks, trailers, buses, vans, mobile cranes and agriculture vehicles.
The TruckCam Camera Wheel Alignment System enables dynamic toe and camber measurements while in the driving position by using the Rolling Method with auto compensa- tion of run-out. Computer assisted manual run-out com- pensation of wheel adaptors is also possible, adding to the flexibility of the system.
Measurement principle
The TruckCam Camera Wheel Alignment System uses the centreline principle to determine the position of axles and individual wheels in relation to the vehicle centreline. Since commercial vehicles are long, the frame centreline is the best fit.
The vehicle centreline is determined by the self-centring frame gauges hung in the front and rear of the frame or body. Reflective targets are placed at an equal distance from this centreline, creating an imaginary line on each ve- hicle parallel to its centreline.
The camera measures distance and position in relation to the front and rear targets, and the system software then calculates all wheel angles for that particular wheel and axle in relation to the centreline, like total toe, individual toe, out of square and parallelism between axles.
Fleet check
The TruckCam system with the rolling method is completely portable. It gives the possibility, for instance, to diagnose a fleet of vehicles outdoors as well as indoors in a very short time.
Since the camera work only with light in the infrared spec- trum, sunlight or indoor light have no influence; the system works in every light condition. With the additional Inclinom- eter Unit, the system can compensate for any influences on measurement from the ground and/or tyres. The compact and durable design of the cameras also contributes to the portability and versatility of the system.

测量原则
TruckCam摄影机车轮定位系统采用中心线原则来鉴定轮轴的位 置和个别车轮相对于车子中心线的关系。由于一般商用车的车 身很长,车架是最好的中心线。
车子的中心线,乃是通过悬挂在车架前或车身的自对中心标尺 架来鉴定。反射目标则被放在与中心线相同距离,并与车架中 心线平行。
