Malaysia: A Focus Business for Palfinger Asia Pacific

Palfinger has appointed Gary Chin as Business Development Man- ager, Malaysia, Palfinger Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, with an aim to rein- force its position in the local market and get closer to its clients.
“As I am a Malaysian, now with my appointment here, Palfigner is able to enhance their direct support from Singapore to Malaysia dealers and also local customers. This also allow us to understand the market needs as well as respond faster and provide our dealers with products and solutions that bring greater value to their customers, ”said Gary.
Gary has 8 years of experience in the truck industry, handling fleet sales first for Fuso, followed by Renault and Volvo. Prior to this appointment, he was managing a Volvo branch in Kuantan and was responsible for sales and customer service. “My role here is to support the dealers in sales, marketing and presentation as well as in product information, spare parts availability, technical aspects and training. I wish to share my experiences with the dealers so that they are able to understand and support their customers better. Before my appointment, dealers had to contact and liaise directly with Palfinger’s regional headquarters in Sin- gapore that managed the company’s Asian business. With this new de- velopment, it has enhanced our efficiency and effectiveness in respond- ing to the local dealers’ needs and further strengthening our foothold in this rapidly developing country.”
Although Palfinger had been in the Malaysian market for years, and it was the number one brand in the world, there was a wish from Palfinger to grow the brand further and better position itself all over Malaysia. “We would sup- port our dealers to further raise Palfinger brand awareness through more activities such as roadshows and participating in exhibitions.”
According to Gary, Palfinger currently had 4 dealers in West Malaysia and East Malaysia, carrying a different variety of Palfinger products. “We are targeting two sectors: the construction and heavy duty material
