Dato’ Nadarajan @Kannan, Operations Director of Linsun Trans Energy Sdn Bhd
Port Dickson based haulage company, Linsun Trans Energy Sdn Bhd has invested in a Tyrebooster nitro- gen inflator from Anox Corporation, which the com- pany says has contributed significantly to reducing tyre and fuel costs over the course of the past nine months.
According to Operations Director Dato’ Nadarajan @ Kan- nan, the company’s fleet of curtainsiders is gradually be- ing moved over to nitrogen thanks to the results achieved since the TyreBooster was installed in June 2014. In total the company says it is saving around 3% on fuel and has seen improvements in tyre life of between 10-15% since the machine was purchased in June 2014.
Says Dato’ Nadarajan; “Margins on transport are small and so we are constantly on the lookout for ways of im- proving our profitability. The Tyrebooster from Anox has shown itself to be a worthwhile purchase. The tyre pres- sure never goes down now that the tyres are filled with nitrogen. When the vehicles were on oxygen our main- tenance engineers had to check the tyres once a week. Now once a month is enough”.
“With nitrogen the risk of blowouts is also very low,” he adds. “Despite the fact that the weather and road surfaces are hot in Malaysia, since last year it has become rare to experi- ence a blowout. A key benefit of the TyreBooster has been a reduction in vehicle downtime. We expect the equipment to pay for itself within a year.”
According to the company, the investment in the TyreBoost- er came about due the efforts of Project Engineer Navin- than, who had been reading about the benefits of using ni- trogen inflation on cars and the mileage improvements that they provided. Navinthan proposed to Dato’ Nadarajan that
