With a team of skilled personnel, Q-Team started with Josam Frame Press System for its panel beating and re- pair of collision damaged trucks and trailers. The system consisted of a variety of press trolleys, vertical presses, C- clamps, hydraulics, a frame measuring system, anchoring and various accessories. The company had constructed a dedicated frame repair bay with embedded beams to facil- itate the repair process in a safe and expeditious manner. Dismantling was reduced greatly and aided by the frame measuring system, and straightening forces could be po- sitioned and applied precisely where they were required.
“Repairs that used to take weeks to complete now only require a fraction of the time. The speed and accuracy of the Josam Frame Press System has helped us to in- crease productivity and shorten the time cycle for colli- sion repairs. In addition, it also allowed us to restore the damaged trucks to their pristine condition, which helped our fleet customers to save costs by reducing the need to purchase new units,” she added.
After-sales service and training were of utmost impor- tance and Elaine gave two thumbs-up to Manbeni Tools (M) Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Josam products in Malaysia. “They have never failed us when we need their expertise and assistance.”
To meet and surpass customers’ needs in services and quality, Q- Teams continued to keep up with technology. Recently, the company bought two new Josam products. According to Elaine, the newly purchased Josam CV Liner electronic wheel alignment system was very user-friendly and able to provide frame measurement and wheel align- ment service for trucks, buses, trailers and other heavy vehicles quickly and accurately. Wheels angles such as toe, steering box position, camber, caster, just to name a few, were measured using Josam patented camera tech- nology with the chassis centre line of the vehicle as refer- ence. Roll the vehicle 180 degree for automatic run-out compensation and measurements of toe, camber and out -of-square were taken and displayed automatically.
With the automatic run-out compensation, accuracy was assured even if the wheel rims were bent.
“Correct axles and wheel alignment is necessary as it helps fleet operators to maximise fuel efficiency and tyre life, which translates to effective cost savings. At the same time, it improves driving safety, comfort and performance. However, you would need the right equipment and exper- tise to offer good alignment service. This is why we keep upgrading our equipment and continue to train our staff.”
Another piece of equipment that the company added was the Josam Induction Heater. Elaine said Josam was a
