Over four months, qualified system technicians and maintenance technicians were assessed on theory and practical tests that in- corporated drivetrain, chassis, body-electrical and non-technical aspects. They were evaluated by Daimler AG-certified trainers and area-specific experts.
Yee said: “The main aim of the Skills Competition Commercial Ve- hicles is for technicians to sharpen their skills and knowledge re- gardless of years of technical experience to maintain great quality of service at each dealership. It promotes and fosters the spirit of continuous self-development and life-long learning. It also serves to uplift staff motivation and morale, and raises our national skills’ level in line with international standards.”
In a neck-and-neck challenge, Muhamad Syamim Othman from Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd (Johor Bahru) emerged victorious in the Qualified System Technicians’ category, bagging RM7,500. First and second runners-up were Saharudin Ahmad from Cycle & Carriage Bintang (Perak) and Kenny George from Hap Seng Commercial Vehicles Sdn Bhd (Kota Kinabalu) who won RM5,000 and RM3,500 respectively. Consolation prizes of RM1,000 went to B. Ravichandaran from Cycle & Carriage Bintang (Batu Caves) and Law Yi You from Cycle & Carriage Bintang (Northern).
Under the Qualified Maintenance Technicians’ category, Muham- mad Aizat Baharim from Q-Team Sdn Bhd took first place, winning RM5,000. Mohd Syafiq Mohd Sharif from Hap Seng Commercial Vehicles (Kuantan) and Victor Using from Rick Huat Workshop Sdn Bhd were first and second runners-up, receiving RM3,500 and RM2,500 respectively. Consolation prizes of RM1,000 cash went to N.P. Muralinathan Pilai from Cycle & Carriage Bintang (Perak) and Mohamad Zain Yaacob from Hap Seng Commercial Vehicles (Kinrara).
Yee thanked the participants and dealers for their enthusiasm and support. “It has been a thrilling experience watching our network talents pit their specialist skills against peers in a high pressure situation. Customers are ultimately the heart of our business and the Truck Drivers’ League and 2016 Skills Competition Commer- cial Vehicles ultimately benefit them as it serves to ensure our promise of trucks you can trust.”

马来西亚马赛地商用车也同时主办2016年商用车技 能大赛。这是首次针对商用车所主办的独立技能大 赛,配合马赛地的终身学习的培训概念,旨在激发 售后服务人员持续学习和提升自己。共有39名来自 全国各地的马赛地经销商的合格技术人员,参加此 次的大赛,赢取价值高达31,000令吉的现金奖。
在过去的4个月里,合格系统技师和维护技师通过了 涵盖传动系统、底盘、车身电气及非技术范围的理 论和实际测试评估。他们通过戴姆勒公司认证培训 师和特定领域专家的评估。

在经过一番剧烈的较劲后,新山Cycle & Car- riage Bintang有限公司的沙民(Muhamad Syamim Othman)在合格系统技术员组别比赛中脱颖而出赢得 第一名和7,500令吉的奖金。霹雳Cycle & Carriage Bintang有限公司的沙如林(Saharudin Ahmad) 则屈居第二,第三名是Hap Seng 商用车有限公司 (哥打京那巴鲁)的佐治(Kenny George)。他们 分别赢得了5,000令吉和3,000令吉现金奖。安慰 奖得主为Cycle & Carriage Bintang (黑风洞)的 灿德拉瑟卡兰(B.Ravichandaran)和Cycle & Car- riage Bintang Northern)的 Law Yi You,他们分 别获得1,000令吉的现金奖。
