The full-fledged 3S commercial vehicle centre is a 0.57- acre premises equipped with facilities capable of servicing more than 150 Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles per month. HSCV Ipoh is said to be operated by a dedicated ad- ministration and technical team capable of providing sales, service (repair and maintenance) and financial services, exclusively for Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hap Seng Consolidat- ed Berhad Group Chief Operating Officer and Hap Seng Star Chief Executive Harald Behrend said: “Hap Seng Commercial Vehicle’s expansion is built on the strong and long-standing relationship we have with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. For the past 40 years, customers have enjoyed first-class products, service quality and comprehensive specialised after-care we offer. The haulage industry needs cost-effective and reliable vehicles, and by expanding our branches and reach to our customers, they can be at ease and enjoy peace of mind.”
MBM CV has 15 authorised dealerships nationwide, in- cluding the newly-opened HSCV Ipoh. To-date, HSCV has established a presence in Kinrara, Klang, Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Miri.
Further expansion plans are expected in the coming years as MBM CV says it remains committed to meet the evolv- ing needs of its customers. “This new Mercedes-Benz Hap Seng Commercial Vehicle Centre in Ipoh will further enhance our position as we continue to expand our pres- ence in Malaysia by offering after-sales quality that is syn- onymous with the Mercedes-Benz brand globally,” assured Yee.
MBM CV, under the Daimler Commercial Vehicles stable, offers wide-ranging vehicles that include Mercedes-Benz trucks such as the Actros, vans such as the Vito and Sprint- er, commonly used for ambulances, as well as buses. In addition, MBM CV also caters to the medium-range com- mercial vehicle market through its Fuso truck series.
During the launch of HSCV Ipoh, Hap Seng Commercial Vehicle also marked the delivery of 16 units of Mercedes- Benz Actros 3340S 6x4 prime mover to TKSC Trading & Transport Sdn Bhd. A Mercedes-Benz customer since 2013, TKSC Trading & Transport Sdn Bhd has in the past purchased more than 70 Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks.
Against the current challenging market conditions, MBM CV says it continues to demonstrate resilient performance, recording 577 vehicles sold (+10 per cent) in the first quar- ter 2017 compared to the same period last year. These comprised its Fuso light-duty and heavy-duty trucks as well as Mercedes-Benz trucks and vans.
