At Bauma 2025, MAN Truck & Bus made a bold statement about its commitment to the construction industry, showcasing a comprehensive range of electric and conventional vehicles designed to meet the sector’s demanding needs.

Electrified, Customised, and Capable: MAN Showcases Complete Construction Offering

From compact 3.5-tonne vans to heavy-duty trucks capable of hauling up to 180 tonnes, the brand’s presence at the Munich event focused on versatility, customisation, and future-ready solutions.

Taking centre stage at the outdoor stand was the new all-electric MAN eTGS 6×2-4 crane tipper chassis. The MAN eTruck series can be highly customised to meet the diverse needs of the construction industry with a wide range of wheelbases, cab versions, battery combinations, loading connection positions, power take-offs and numerous other industry-specific features. Up to one million configuration variants are possible, offering every customer and everybody manufacturer the right electric base vehicle. Thanks to an expected predicted service life of up to 1.6 million kilometres or up to 15 years, depending on the type of application, the batteries are also extremely durable and therefore ideally suited to the construction industry with its long vehicle ownership periods.

“Decades of experience in the realisation of operational, reliable and durable vehicles for our customers in the construction industry and the continuous close exchange with body manufacturers are a central part of MAN‘s DNA. This is the focus of our Bauma presentation and this application-orientation is also the core competence of our new eTrucks, which are in no way inferior to our diesel vehicles,” said Friedrich Baumann, Executive Board Member for Sales & Customer Solutions at MAN Truck & Bus SE.

The 20- to 28-tonne MAN eTGX and eTGS chassis are built for versatility in construction, offering three to six modularly positioned batteries and power options of 333, 449, or 544 hp. With up to nine wheelbases, six cab variants, multiple axle configurations, and both mechanical and electric drive options, these trucks are designed to suit a wide variety of body applications. Even on the shortest 3.75-metre wheelbase, five batteries can deliver up to 400 kWh, enabling a range of around 500 km in solo use—enough for typical daily construction routes. Opting for fewer batteries boosts payload by up to 2.4 tonnes, while trucks equipped with six batteries can reach up to 670 km in solo chassis mode and around 500 km when hauling a semitrailer.

Beyond the standard range, MAN Individual offers extensive customisation for eTrucks—similar to its conventional models. Options include a seventh battery for 6×2 chassis to extend solo range up to 740 km, rear-left CCS charging ports, and aerial platform prep. Other variants include extra drive axles, body-specific frame clearances, low-height chassis for high-volume transport, and exclusive Lion S design and comfort packages—all configurable ex work.

Conventional vehicles remain a stronghold for MAN as well. The TGS 35.540 8x2H-6 chassis equipped with a high-capacity Palfinger crane demonstrated the brand’s continued innovation in heavy-duty applications, featuring MAN HydroDrive for additional traction and factory-provided body prep solutions. The TGX 33.640 semitrailer tractor, with its powerful 640 hp D38 engine, showcased capabilities for loads up to 180 tonnes, while the TGS 41.480 8×4, designed for mining and off-road use, emphasized robustness with a payload potential of up to 50 tonnes.

Smaller but no less capable models like the all-wheel-drive TGM 18.320 and the updated TGE 3.200 van rounded out the portfolio. The TGE now features improved safety and driver-assist systems, a modernised cabin, and MAN Individual enhancements such as underride protection, increased power, and air suspension.

Digital solutions

To support this wide array of offerings, MAN also presented digital solutions such as the new MAN PAL bodybuilder programme.  This online tool allows bodybuilders to configure vehicle parameters, link body and vehicle functions, and program operating features—all on a single platform. These settings can then be transferred over-the-air to the vehicle, streamlining the bodybuilding process, saving time, and reducing costs. It complements the existing MAN ABBI platform, which provides technical drawings and specifications for both electric and conventional models.

Further digital services like MAN eManager M, SmartRoute, and Charge&Go support eTruck operations, while MAN Transport Solutions offers 360-degree consulting on transitioning to electromobility, including infrastructure planning and charging solutions through partnered suppliers.

Rounding out the brand’s Bauma presence was MAN Engines, showcasing the high-performance D2862 V12 engine designed for large excavators and mining equipment, underlining MAN’s capability across every segment of the construction machinery value chain. By offering high levels of modularity, future-ready technology, and robust conventional options, MAN underscored its goal to serve every application in the construction sector—electrified or not.
