The Dialogue Was a Part of EUROCHAM’s Initiatives

MAN Malaysia, a Platinum Member of EUROCHAM Malaysia, continues to strengthen its commitment to improving the country’s transportation landscape through active participation in EUROCHAM’s activities.

EUROCHAM Malaysia, established in 1993 as the chamber of chambers by several European Union (EU) bilateral chambers of commerce, aims to be the united voice of the EU business community in Malaysia as well as to facilitate trade and investment between Europe and Malaysia.

As a key member of EUROCHAM’s Automotive Committee, MAN Malaysia has participated in eight engagements to date, including a discussion with the Parliamentary Special Select Committee (PSC) on Infrastructure, Transportation, and Communication last month.

In the dialogue, MAN Malaysia provided industry-driven insights to Malaysian lawmakers, including YB Haji Yusuf bin Abd Wahab, YB Datuk Matbali bin Musah, YB Tan Hong Pin, and YB Ir. Ts. Hj. Khairil Nizam. The dialogue focused on addressing the challenges to “reach an advancement within the commercial vehicle sector”.

MAN Malaysia also advocated several key proposals to the lawmakers such as accelerating the nationwide adoption of EURO V emissions standards for heavy commercial vehicles, implementing an end-of-life programme to remove outdated vehicles from public roads, and streamlining the heavy vehicle registration process—particularly at the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) stage—to reduce delays.

“Through this platform, we aim to contribute meaningful insights and work towards solutions that will drive advancements in Malaysia’s logistics infrastructure,” MAN Malaysia wrote on its official Facebook page. “While the challenges are complex, continuous dialogue lays a strong foundation for impactful change.”
