RS Super Truck & Bus Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of S.R. Automobile Centre Sdn Bhd, marked another significant milestone with the recent opening of its new Tata 3S Centre in Bidor, Perak. This further augments DRB-HICOM Commercial Vehicles Sdn Bhd’s (DHCV) commitment as the distributor of Tata vehicles to strengthen Tata’s presence in the Malaysian market.
Expanding Frontiers: New Tata 3S Centre Unveiled in Bidor
RS Super Truck & Bus was appointed as a Tata 3S authorised dealer in December 2016. This new 3S facility is expected to improve sales and facilitate after-sales support and needs of Tata vehicle owners in Bidor and the neighbouring areas.
The new centre is located strategically in Bidor, making it convenient for customers from nearby towns. The spacious showroom could display up to six Tata vehicles and the current variants on display are the Tata Xenon Double and Single Cab Pick-ups, Ultra 512 (GVW 5,000kg), Ultra 1012 (GVW 10,400kg), Prima 4×2 and 6×4 prime movers.
DHCV’s Chief Operating Officer Chin Tan Hee said: “I am pleased to see the efforts that RS Super Truck & Bus has taken to promote Tata products through this new and spacious facility as well as develop various body applications for Tata vehicles, including Tata Xenon Tipper, Xenon Box, Xenon Food Truck, Ultra Arm Roll and Ultra Car Carrier. Other applications available include Tata Ultra Bike Carrier, Ultra Wooden Cargo, Ultra Tipper and Ultra Tanker.”
“RS Super Truck & Bus is now a full-fledged 3S centre that will provide sales, service and spare-parts operation and this is very important in our efforts to provide excellent customer service from the moment a customer walks into any dealership.”
He added: “We must make every effort to ensure customer satisfaction to boost the Tata brand. DHCV will continue to work closely with our principal Tata Motors Limited, India to offer products with good value for money and best overall package to the Malaysian commercial vehicle market.”
The service centre is equipped with Tata Motors’ latest diagnostic equipment and all the necessary specialised tools to carry out complete and comprehensive service maintenance as well as major repairs.
Rajasagar Nagaya, Managing Director of RS Super Truck & Bus, said: “It is indeed an honour that DHCV has chosen to appoint RS Super Truck & Bus as the authorised dealer to market the Tata product range. This amplifies DHCV’s trust in the company’s commitment to not only introduce Tata vehicles as the preferred vehicle for commercial use in Bidor, but its ability to spur Tata’s market presence and growth of the brand in Perak.”
He elaborated: “The commercial vehicle industry needs cost-effective and reliable vehicles to boost profitability and efficiency, and I believe Tata has what the industry needs with a range of dependable products that are competitively priced.”
RS Super Truck & Bus also plans to open another sales centre (1S) in Bukit Tengah, Penang by early 2018 as part of its plan to aggressively market Tata products in the northern region.
Last year, Tata was ranked 10th out of 28 active commercial vehicle players in Malaysia by contributing 571 units or 1.0 per cent of total commercial vehicle sales of 65,579 units.
Also at the opening ceremony was Rohime Shafie, Head of Automotive, Automotive Distribution and Manufacturing & Engineering Division of DRB-HICOM Berhad.
