Rapid Bus Encourages More People to Use the Service

Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, the operator of Rapid KL buses and MRT feeder buses, has launched seven new routes with 18 vans for the Rapid KL On-Demand service on March 10, 2025.

The first route, T466B (UNITEN – Bangi), is designed to benefit students and staff of Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and the surrounding areas. The T253B (LRT Wangsa Maju – Sri Rampai) route connects train service users with bus services along the Jalan Genting Kelang bus lane, including Route 250 (LRT Wangsa Maju Station – Lebuh Ampang) and Route 251 (AU3 Jentayu – Chow Kit).

The T254B (Titiwangsa – Chow Kit) route enhances connectivity for passengers travelling along Jalan Genting Kelang who stop at KL155 Kuala Lumpur Hospital (West). The T606B (Bandar Kinrara – Jalan Puchong) route improves accessibility for passengers using Route 600 (Puchong Utama – Pasar Seni) and the Jalan Klang Lama bus lane.

The T651B (Taman OUG – Kuchai Lama) route connects passengers using Routes 600 (Puchong Utama – Pasar Seni) and 640 (Sri Manja Bus Hub – Pasar Seni Bus Hub) to the city centre. Meanwhile, T255B (Bukit Antarabangsa – Setiawangsa) is a completely new route serving an area that previously lacked public transportation. Lastly, the T202B (Taman Melati – Gombak Setia) route replaces the existing T203 (Taman Melati – Gombak Setia), offering a wider coverage area and more stops.

Passengers can access these new routes through different apps: Mobi for T466B, Kummute for T253B and T254B, and Trek Rides for the remaining four routes. The service guarantees a reserved seat and operates from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM.

“Since the On-Demand service was introduced in 2023, 19 routes have been operational. By June, more routes will be introduced gradually, in line with the arrival of new vans to facilitate passengers’ journeys further. At Rapid Bus, we aim to make public transport the preferred choice for commuting,” said Ku Jamil Zakaria, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, in an official statement.

The Rapid KL On-Demand service was previously expanded with 10 new routes on February 1, 2025. Since then, daily ridership has peaked at 1,928 passengers.

Currently, passengers only need to pay a promotional fare of RM1.00 per trip using a Touch ‘n Go Card, MyRapid Concession Card, OKU Smile Travel Pass, or Unlimited Travel Passes (My50, MyCity & Family Pass). According to Rapid Bus‘ official release, this promotional fare is intended “to encourage more people to experience this service.”
