In addition to the initial 10-unit purchase of Scania Super Trucks, Sin Hock Soon Group adds 40 more to its fleet.
The Scania Super Offers “Unmatched Performance” with the Highest Torque at the Lowest RPM
Sin Hock Soon Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Scania to purchase an additional 40 units of Scania Super.
The MoU signing took place at the company’s new warehouse in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Malaysia, in a ceremony that also included the official handover of three Scania Super Trucks, part of the initial 10-unit purchase. The General Manager of Sin Hock Soon Group, Mr. Shawn Yew, formally received the truck keys from the Solution Sales Director for Trucks of Scania Southeast Asia, Mr. Gary Chin.
According to Mr. Yew, his company believes that it can provide exceptional service by using Scania Super trucks.
“We understand that our customers’ businesses depend on an optimal, seamless, and reliable logistics supply chain, and this is exactly what we strive to deliver. With the Scania Super trucks, we can provide exceptional service, as its robust 13-litre engine ensures maximum uptime while delivering an industry-leading 2,300Nm of torque at 900RPM, along with up to 8% fuel savings,” stated Mr Shawn, as reported by the Scania’s official website.
The Scania Super offers “unmatched performance” with the highest torque at the lowest RPM. It also features dual camshafts, optimised injectors, precision turbocharging, and a “state-of-the-art” management system.
“I would like to congratulate Sin Hock Soon Group for being at the forefront of driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system. The Scania Super will continue to enhance profitability and sustainability for their business and customers,” said Mr Chin.
“Additionally, safety remains a priority, as the Super now comes standard with Side Curtain Airbags and a Steering Wheel Airbag, alongside safety features like Electronic Brake System (EBS) with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control, to ensure the safety of their drivers and other road users,” he added.
With the recent addition of Scania Super, Sin Hock Soon Group will gain access to a suite of Scania Digital Services, including a 3-year Fleet Management System Control Package which provides valuable insights and information about their fleet.
Scania’s Fleet Management System Control Package can be accessed via My Scania portal and Fleet app. Users can track the location of their trucks in real-time while also monitoring vehicle performance and CO₂ emissions. Service planning, defect reporting, and driver evaluation are also parts of the system. These tools enable identification of opportunities for vehicle usage improvements during Driver Training and Coaching.
Scania Ecolution is now also included as a standard feature with the purchase of Scania Super. Its sole purpose is to maximising the customers’ fleet’s fuel efficiency and, at the same time, reducing CO₂, Nitrogen Oxide, and Particulate Matter emissions.
With each Scania Super purchase, Sin Hock Soon Group receives a 2-year Inclusive Maintenance plan covering up to 84 checkpoints. It also gains access to Scania’s extensive workshop network. All of these products and services were acquired by the Sin Hock Soon Group using Scania‘s Financial Services.
