Sun Bus Tech Also Plans to Start Supplying Electric Buses this Year
Sun Bus Tech Sdn Bhd targets 49 per cent of domestic sales in 2025 to drive public transport sustainability in Malaysia. For comparison, the domestic sales were only four per cent last year.
This initiative was praised by the Investment, Trade and Industry Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, in a video posted on his X official account on Feb 22, 2025.
“In 2024, 96 per cent of sales were from abroad, and only four per cent were from Malaysia. For 2025, they aim to raise local sales to 49 per cent, with 51 per cent going overseas,” Tengku Zafrul said, as quoted by the Bernama News Agency.
One of Sun Bus Tech‘s international customers, according to Tengku Zafrul, is Singapore’s Land Transport Authority. Tengku Zafrul also stated that the Johor-based company plans to supply electric buses this year.
“With EV technology and ongoing innovation, Sun Bus Tech is paving the way for a more sustainable public transport future in Malaysia. I hope more local companies will follow in their footsteps,” he said.
