SuperNice Express is the first in Malaysia to have purchased a K360IB4x2 Scania coach equipped with ADAS.
SuperNice Express Continues to Invest in Safety
SuperNice Express, a brand under the Unimax Group, is the first in Malaysia to have signed a quotation for a K360IB4x2 Scania coach equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for enhanced safety and peace of mind of its passenger.
The signing ceremony for the order took place on the second day of the Malaysian Commercial Vehicle Expo (MCVE) 2022. This occurred after Unimax Group Chairman, Roy Chew, was convinced, on the first day of the event, that taking safety for passengers to a higher level was imperative with the ADAS offering for Scania coaches.
With this signing, SuperNice solidifies itself as a sustainable partner for the first Scania coach with a more comprehensive ADAS. The system consists of an Electronic Braking System (EBS), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Retarder, as well as the optional Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), which includes a new Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB). Additionally, a coach chassis purchase also includes a Repair & Maintenance (R&M) contract and Financial Services.
The AEB is a system that uses a camera and radar to register what is happening in front of the vehicle. The purpose of the system is, as far as possible, to prevent a collision with the vehicle in front through automatic braking. The AEB will be the first to be used on a coach in Malaysia and will elevate SuperNice’s status as the safest express coach service in Malaysia.
The signing ceremony for the ADAS was between Heba El Tarifi, Managing Director, Scania Southeast Asia, and Unimax Group Chairman Roy Chew. Concurrently, the R&M contract signing was undertaken by Thor Brenden, Services Director, Scania Southeast Asia, and Roy Chew. The R&M Contract ensures that the ADAS system will be maintained by Scania to secure the highest safety standard.
The final signing was for the Scania Financial Services agreement between Anson Phua, Country Manager, Scania Credit (M) Sdn Bhd, and Roy Chew. With Scania Financial Services, SuperNice will also benefit from the flexible financing solutions by Scania Credit Malaysia providing the group with predictable costs over the entire lifecycle of the coach.
All three signings were witnessed by Dr Wong Shaw Voon, Chairman of Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) and Stefan Pertz, Organising Chairman of MCVE.
