Volvo Strengthens Position in North America & Brazil

Volvo Trucks led the heavy truck market (16 tonnes and above) with a 17.9 per cent market share. The highest number of registered Volvo trucks came from the UK, France, Germany, Poland, and Spain.

“We are extremely proud to be the market leader in Europe. This achievement is a testament to our customers’ trust in our trucks, known for their fuel efficiency, safety, and uptime. Our strong product portfolio continues to drive demand,” said Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks.

Alm also highlighted the success of Volvo’s FH Aero trucks, launched in 2024, which offer electric, gas, and diesel powertrains. “These trucks have quickly gained popularity. Transport companies choose Volvo because our solutions help them grow their business while reducing CO2 emissions. I want to extend my gratitude to our customers, dealers, suppliers, and colleagues for making this possible,” he added.

Beyond Europe, Volvo Trucks expanded its market share in 25 countries in 2024. In Brazil, the company maintained its leadership in the heavy truck segment for the third consecutive year, achieving a 23.7 per cent market share. The Volvo FH was the best-selling truck model across all brands in Brazil. In Australia, Volvo’s market share stood at 18.2 per cent, while in North America (U.S. and Canada), it reached 10.5 per cent, up from 10.2 per cent in 2023.

“Our position is stronger than ever, thanks to the complete renewal of our global product portfolio in 2024. In North America, where we aim to expand significantly, we introduced an all-new platform that will serve as the foundation for upcoming models. The first model, the Volvo VNL, delivers up to 10 per cent better fuel economy compared to its predecessor,” Alm stated.
