ITG Oil and Gas Services Sdn Bhd was established by current Managing Direc- tor, Goh Thiam Kan in 1999 and has de- veloped as a specialist in the design, en- gineering, fabrication and commissioning of special transportation vehicles including aluminium petroleum fuel tankers, cryo- genic tankers and various multi-purpose trailers and semi-trailers. The company is a particular specialist in the petroleum sector, where it can lay claim to a raft of Blue Chip clients such as BP Chemicals and Petronas. The company designed and manufactured specialist vehicles until 2005 but since then switched to importing complete units manufactured in China and assembling them in Malaysia.
The deal which transformed ITG to a leading manufacturer for transportation vehicles in Malaysia was an exclusive ar- rangement negotiated by Goh with Yang Zhou CIMC Tonghua Special Vehicles Co, by which ITG represents CIMC as its exclusive distributor in Malaysia. CIMC is the world’s largest container manufac- turer as well as supplying a full range of specialist vehicles.
“Five years ago we were just into petro- leum but we are now into chemicals, refrig- erated foods, beverages etc. With clients such as Linfox, Tesco and YTL Cement”. In the last two years ITG has developed a full range of products and has increased its team of design engineers accordingly. The company is now in the process of set- ting up regional dealership branches
in Kuantan, Penang and Johor.
“In petroleum we are proud to say that we are well known. Now we are trying to expand
to other products. There is a
lot of infrastructure develop- ment going on in Malaysia so there are plenty of good opportunities”, says Goh. “However, if we are to ex- pand we need a synergy partner and I expect that in the coming years we will need to JV with CIMC”

“5年前，我们才刚刚进入石油领域， 但现在我们也涉及化学、冷冻食品、 饮料等。Linfox、Tesco及YTL水泥都 是我们的客户。两年前，ITG发展了全 系列的产品，并增加了设计工程师的 人数。如今公司正在关丹、槟城及柔 佛设立区域性代理分店。”
