What is induction heating?
Induction heating is the process of heating an electrically conducting object (usually a metal) by electromagnetic induction. Eddy currents (also called Foucault currents) are generated within the metal and resistance leads to Joule heating of the metal. An in- duction heater consists of an electromag- net, through which a high-frequency alter- nating current (AC) is passed.
What can I use an induction heater for?
When a damaged vehicle frame is straight- ened, with for example the frame straight- ening system Josam i-press, induction heating provides a great help. Certain ar- eas of the frame can be heated to make the

metal frame easier to work with. An induction heater also comes in handy when old rusted bolts and machine parts must be loosened. The more powerful the induction heater, the more advanced and heavy workshop tasks can be performed. Examples of applications for an induction heater are: sheet metal straightening, loos- ening of machine parts, loosening of rusted nuts, pins and bolts, loosen- ing of bushings and clamping rings, frame straightening etc.
What are the benefits of induction heating?
It's fast, easy and safe! Compared to heating with an open flame, an induc- tion heater can be used with less risk of damaging heat sensitive machine parts nearby. Handling gas in your workshop involves a lot of risks. You don't have to worry about that at all if you're using an induction heater in- stead.
