Hino Malaysia Donates Hino Truck to Malaysia Red Crescent
Hino Motors Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd (HMSM) donated a truck to The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) on 1st Sept, 2015 as a way of supporting and building capacity in lo- gistics, especially in times of disaster.
The Hino 4-wheeler truck, model WU302 for which the body was sponsored by A-Plus Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, was an additional new truck to the MRC.
Upon receiving the truck at the MRC headquarters, National Chairman Tunku Tan Sri Dato’ Sharima expressed his gratitude to Hino Motors Managing Director Ken Iwamoto for the donation, which would help to support MRC’s operations in transporting and delivering relief items to affected communities. He added that the donation was timely as most of their vehicles were too old and needed to be replaced. Additionally, the maintenance costs and fuel consumptions for these older vehicles had accel- erated and were far too expensive or beyond repair.
MRC is a non-profit organisation dedicated to humanitarian acts and services. Voluntary in nature, it is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the world’s largest in- dependent humanitarian network. The Movement, as it is widely known as, is largely perceived as a ‘public good’ that is available to everyone, everywhere to prevent and reduce human suffering.
“One of Hino’s principles is to develop the products placing em- phasis on QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) parallel to the concept of Hino Total Support. Considering the growth of Hino’s business, we had established Hino Total Customer Support Cen- tre next to our assembly plant in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan. This facility provides two driver training areas, ‘Safe Eco-cien Driver Training’ and ‘Driver Familiarisation Training’, to equip Hino owners with vehicle knowledge, safety and eco-driving skill techniques as one of the support for sustainable growth of our customer’s business,” said Iwamoto.
