The focus of Palfin- ger Asia Pacific is to provide service, sales and marketing support for their dealers and customers.
Palfinger's main product is the hydraulic knuckle boom crane, renowned for its user friendliness and high efficiency.
With more than 100 models and a market share of more than 30%, Palfinger is the world market leader in this segment.
The simple yet robust design makes it a top favourite in the construction and logistics industry.
As a Palfinger dealer, Asiagroup is aiming to better serve the oil and gas sector.
This includes the mega projects in the 20,000- acre Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Com- plex (PIPC) area in Johor.
This will house oil refineries, naphtha crack- ers, petrochemical plants as well as a lique- fied natural gas (LNG) import terminal and a regasification plant.
The multi-billion catalytic projects in PIPC in- clude a Pengerang Independent Deepwater Petroleum Terminal, and Petronas' Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) which will have a 300,000 barrels per day refining capacity.
Poh said Palfinger's products would more than meet the stringent safety requirements for contractors at Pengerang.
"Asiagroup is a specialist for crane rental and sales. Palfinger's products are a good fit," said Poh.
Regarding business challenges, Poh said al- though the heavy lift and transport segment is growing, there was also increasing competi- tion.
"Thus, equipment quality and after-sales sup- port play an important part in growing mar- ket share. We are looking into increasing our sales and service support to meet market de- mands."
