Lee took pride in the centre for its professional, reli- able and prompt services. “We are able to replace 20 tyres in about 30 minutes, while complete bal- ancing and alignment can be done in 2 hours. We know that getting the trucks back on the road for our customers is time and money. In addition, we keep records of each tyre, from cradle to grave, which enable us to provide our customers all of the infor- mation associated with their tyres, including mile- age, service history, repairs and retreads. This will help them to control their operating costs.”
The Hankook Truck Masters centre has 5 tyre break- down service vehicles that cover the whole of Pen- insular Malaysia, except Kuantan and Kelantan, where it depends on third party contractors. “We understand that our customers’ businesses depend on keeping their fleet moving; an unexpected tyre breakdown and the resulting downtime can seriously impact their bottom line. Thus, we have our own tyre breakdown service team to ensure rapid tyre break- down response and assistance as well as the quality of the service.”
Lee revealed that joining the Hankook Truck Masters programme helped him to increase the Hankook’s brand awareness and get better incentives.
Lee’s parents were in the transportation industry and ventured into the tyre industry in 1988. From one tyre shop, the company expanded to 4 branch- es over the years.
“The majority of our customers have been with us for more than 20 years. I think the willingness to go the extra mile for the customers has made us stand out from the rest. For instance, we would help our customers to stock up on their tyres before the price increased upon request. We would also work closely with the manufacturers to organise training such as tyre maintenance course and driver safety course for their drivers.”
Moving forward, Lee spoke of his plan to open an- other truck tyre service centre in Johor Bahru. “We have to support our customers who expand to Johor Bahru. They have the confidence in us and hope that they can rely on us in their expansion as the pricing in Johor is higher compared to what we are charging right now.”
Another plan, Lee said, was to open the company’s own retreading plant as the small facility at the head office only dealt with hot-cured retreading. “The ex- isting retreading plant that we have was opened and operated by my father. After he passed away, I concentrated more on the tyre business. In fact, we have the volume and with our own retreading plant, we are able to provide a more complete service to our customers, as well as ensure the quality and shorter delivery time with reasonable pricing. In ad- dition, one of the manufacturers has expressed a keenness to establish a partnership with us in set- ting up the plant.”

李谋典为其中心的迅速、可靠及专业服务而深感自豪。“我们能够在大 约30分钟里更换20条轮胎,并可在两小时里完成车轮平衡和定位服务。 我们知道协助客户们的车子回到路上,对他们来说就是时间与金钱。此 外,我们会记录每一条轮胎的历史,从一开始到废弃处理,确保我们能 够为客户提供所有与他们的轮胎相关的信息,包括里数、维修的历史、 修补及翻新。这将协助客户控制他们的营运成本。”
此韩泰轮胎Truck Masters拥有5辆轮胎救援服务车,覆盖整个马来西 亚半岛,除了关丹和吉兰丹,他们需要靠第三方承包商。“我们了解 客户的生意仰赖车队的运跑,毫无预警的轮胎故障,将造成停工,严 重影响他们的利润。因此,我们拥有自己的轮胎救援服务队伍,在客 户发生轮胎故障时提供快速的反应和协助,以及优质的服务。”
他也透露说,参与韩泰Truck Masters计划,协助他提高韩泰 的品牌意识和获得更好的奖励。
李谋典的父母一开始从事运输业,1988年才进入轮胎行业。这些年 来,该公司发展迅速,从原本的一间轮胎店,发展到今天拥有4家 分店。
“大部分的客户和我们在一起超过20年。我想,愿意多付出一点点, 让我们得以脱颖而出。比如,在轮胎调涨价格前,如果客户要求,我 们会协助他们库存轮胎。我们也会与轮胎制造商密切配合,为客户的 司机主办培训如轮胎保养课程和司机安全课程等。”
谈到未来,他透露说,他计划在新山开设另一家卡车轮胎服务中 心。“我们必须支援那些拓展到新山的客户。他们对我们有信心,并 希望在他们扩展业务时能够仰赖我们,因为柔佛卡车服务中心的收费 比我们的来得高。”
他的另一个计划是开设自己的翻胎厂,因为他们目前位于总公司的翻 胎厂的规模非常小,而且只提供热法翻新。“我们现有的翻胎厂是我 的父亲创立和经营的,但在他过世后,我比较专注于轮胎业务。事实 上,我们拥有一定的翻新轮胎数量。有了我们自己的翻胎厂,我们就 能够为客户提供更完整的服务,确保品质和缩短交货期,并提供合理 的翻胎价格。更何况,目前有其中一家轮胎制造商表达了与我们合作 成立翻胎厂的强烈兴趣。
