Scania has a complete Euro 6 range of buses and coaches with the broadest offering of bio fuels for the best envi- ronmental performance. The highly versatile range offers customers a wide and flexibly tailored selection of buses and coaches to suit their individual transport needs, profiting not only from unrivalled operating economy but also from low to insignifi- cant environmental impact.
Scania has been widely recognised in the bus and coach mar- ket as the manufacturer that meets both customer and public demands for cleaner vehicles. The vehicles provide not only low fuel consumption but can also be operated on all commercially available alternative fuels.
With the new hybridised version of Scania Citywide LE, Scania is said to take yet another major step towards carbon neutrality, offering the only hybrid bus certified for operations with biodiesel. This bus is ideally suited for city and suburban operations with speeds of up to 100km/h.
“The bus and coach business is highly cost conscious and needs to meet the highest environmental standards,” says Klas Dahl- berg, Senior Vice President Buses and Coaches, Scania. “We have taken that to heart and developed outstanding products that combine the best performance in both these respects.”
The comprehensive Scania Citywide range offers customers a wide selection of transport solutions with buses from 10.9 metres to 18.1 metres with 250 to 360hp engines. The 320 and 360hp engines are available for biodiesel operations and gas engines are available both as 280 and 320hp. Furthermore, the 18.1-me- tre articulated bus is now developed for gas engine operations.
Scania OmniExpress 3.60 is seen as the comfortable, spacious and tailored bus for intercity and coach operations. It offers customers superior flexibility from 10.9 to 15 metres and seven power ranges from 250 to 490hp. For the 320, 450 and 490hp engines, Scania offers a biodiesel option, and for gas operations the 280 and 320hp engines can be deployed.
Scania Touring HD is the occasional service coach with outstand- ing uptime and reliability, available in three lengths between 12 and 13.7 metres. The range can be selected with 360, 410 and 450hp engines and the latter is also available for biodiesel op- erations.
The new 2-axle, 12.9-metre coach offers the latest in comfort and ease without compromising on environmental excellence. With the added wheelchair lift and greater passenger capacity, operators are said to gain even better flexibility in transport.
