MAN and Neoplan Coaches – with added enhance- ments on request
MAN brought together its expertise in buses at the Bus Modification Centre (BMC) for MAN and NEOPLAN brand buses and coaches. The aim here was to work together with customers and to search for ambitious solutions to meet the individual requirements of the customer. The BMC made it possible to offer customers turnkey solutions from a single source for their specialist requirements. The Neoplan Cityliner had an individual lounge interior de- signed by the BMC, which supported communication on the road. This included a special light and sound system, spe- cifically designed for this coach.
The Neoplan Skyliner double-decker coach combined two functions in a single vehicle: On the lower deck, there was a bistro where passengers could socialise, with a spacious L- shaped, fully equipped galley, 18 Exclussivo-Plus seats and two face-to-face double seat arrangement accommodating groups with height-adjustable tables.
Neoplan Tourliner Won IBC Comfort Award
Neoplan Tourliner was awarded the IBC Comfort Award 2015 by an international panel of judges for its exceptional level of comfort. Visitors were able to have a ride in this luxurious coach, a 5-star vehicle with VIP seating for 32 pas- sengers, at the outdoor area of the Xpo Centre in Kortrijk. The rows on the left were individual seats, while those on the right were double seats. The interior fittings included easy-to-view monitors, a 56-litre fridge and a handy on- board kitchen.
In keeping with the plans of many cities to minimise emis- sions from short-distance public transport, Kutcha re- vealed that MAN would present a pre-series battery bus (BEV) to the public as early as the next Busworld in Kor- trijk in 2017. By the turn of the decade, MAN intended to offer 100-per cent electrically-powered city buses as a standard product.
MAN had made a strong presence at Busworld 2015 with its presentation of sustainable ideas, innovative solutions, luxuri- ous features and a celebration of its 100th anniversary.
