The installation of a small refrigeration system would take 1 to 2 working days, while the installation of medium and heavy duty systems would take 4 working days. All of the company’s products were covered by a minimum 1-year war- ranty and 1-year full service, subjected to terms and conditions.
“We are very committed in providing excellent after-sales service and technical support. This is established in our sales personnel being equipped with sound product and technical knowledge and the increasing number of our techni- cians, from the initial 1 to 10 technicians today. We pride ourselves for having a technical team that comprises highly experienced and skilled technicians. We realise the importance of continual training and we send our technicians to Carrier Transicold’s regional office in Singapore for training or the engineer from Singapore will come here to conduct training.”
Besides that, the sales team would advise the customers how to use and main- tain the refrigerator as well as inform them of the nearest service centre. “Our sales team will visit the customers regularly to get their feedback on the prod- ucts. Since all of our sales personnel are well equipped with product knowl- edge and technical know-how, they can attend to some of the minor issues, such as adjusting the temperature of the refrigerator system.”
As to the maintenance service, Chin said the company’s service centre would call and remind customers of the scheduled preventative service. If there was a need for additional repair, it would inform the customers first before proceed- ing with the repair.
What about the challenges? He said the company had to compete with local products and international brands. “For local products, their selling prices are cheaper. We have to explain to customers that when they buy Carrier Transi- col products, they are making a long term investment. Our products are more durable and reliable, ensuring smooth operation and peace of mind. They can see the difference between our products and local systems immediately after the second year of usage. The maintenance and repair costs for the local prod- ucts are much higher, whereas our products do not require major repair within the first 5 years. We recommend a replacement after 5 years.”
