Caltex Launches Power Diesel (Euro 5) with Techron D
Chevron Malaysia Lim- ited, which carries the retail brand Caltex, launched its Euro 5 compli- ant diesel fuel, the enhanced Caltex Power Diesel (Euro 5) with Techron D, a new ultra- premium diesel product that is described as cleaner and pro- vides more power and reliability with every fill.
This Caltex Power Diesel con- tains Chevron’s exclusive Techron D additive to control deposits, maintain fuel injector cleanliness and enable opti- mum engine performance. Its launch is said to be in line with Chevron’s commitment to offer excellent products, clean ser- vice stations and efficient ser- vices to meet customers’ need without compromise.
Developed with near-zero sul- phur content, this improved ultra-premium diesel contains less than 10 parts per million (ppm) of sulphur, in comparison to the current Euro 2M diesel fuel that contains 500ppm – a factor of more than 50.
“We understand that our cus- tomers’ needs are constantly evolving in this ever fast paced environment. The introduction of Caltex Power Diesel (Euro 5) with Techron D is proof of our commitment to provide custom- ers with clean, safe and reliable quality products that not only in- crease vehicle performance but prevent engine corrosion for old and new diesel engines,” said Shahid Ahmed, Country Chair- man, Chevron Malaysia.
He continued: “The launch of our new ultra-premium diesel with Euro 5 is aimed at reinforc- ing the Caltex brand as a qual- ity fuel provider and making it the fuel of choice for Malaysian motorists.”
In a diesel engine, keeping the fuel injectors clean is critical as they are prone to deposit formation. Depos- its can upset the injector spray pat- tern and hinder the fuel-air mixing process leading to decreased fuel economy, poor engine performance and increased emissions. The new improved ultra-premium diesel is described as being proven to help clean up and keep clean fuel injec- tors and optimise power. Chevron says its benefits are supported by various tests and research.
In engine and laboratory tests, it has proven to deliver ‘excellent’ re- sults including 100-per cent clean fuel injector that translates to opti- mal fuel economy, lesser emissions and restoration of lost power; zero power loss; metal surface protection against corrosion; and foamless, re- sulting in a faster and cleaner fill.
“We are confident that such prod- uct benefits are what motorists are looking for in premium diesel prod- ucts. By introducing a more power- ful, efficient and clean diesel fuel, we hope to make the journeys of Malaysians’ more memorable and enjoyable,” said Ahmed.
