Brings Yonglitai Axles into Malaysian Market
Established in 2011, Ipoh based J&D Trading is a new player in the commercial vehicle axles market in Malaysia. With a strong backup from the family that has many years of experience in commercial vehicle body building, Darren Wong set up this company together with his brother.
“My family used to be very active in commercial ve- hicle body building. Now they are more focused on services”, said J &D Trading and Logistic Sdn Bhd Sales Manager Darren Wong. “ It is through my fa- ther that we came to know Yonglitai axles for semi- trailers. He found the axles that are produced by Yonglitai to be of good quality, and we decided to contact them directly.”
Wong visited the Yonglitai plant and was amazed with the operations and the quality control. Things went on smoothly, J&D and Yonglitai finally sealed their partnership deal. Today, J &D is not only the sole distributor of Yonglitai’s products in Malaysia, but also acts as Yonglitai Axles’ sales office in Ma- laysia.
Yonglitai is one of the professional manufacturers of axles, suspensions and spare parts for semi-trailers in China. It has more than 50 years production ex- perience with a current annual production capacity of 150,000 pcs axles and 50,000 sets of all kinds of suspensions. The company produces both Ameri- can and German series axles. However, according to Wang, as the Malaysian market is dominated by American axles they only sell American axles for semi-trailers locally.
How does J &D approach the market? Wong replied that as his father is in the service business, he has good connections with body builders and logistics companies. “We approach the end users directly. Of course, at the beginning it is not easy as Yonglitai is a new brand in the market. But, we have managed to convince some of them to try the products, and it will take two years before they can give us feedback. Thus, I would say it is a long process, but we have confidence in our axles. This is because Yonglitai has obtained ISO/TS 16949 certification, with 50% of its production exported to more than 30 countries in the world.”

永力泰是中国其中一家制造半挂车车轴、悬挂系统及零部件的制造 商。它已有50多年的生产历史，目前拥有年产半挂车车轴15万条和各 种悬挂5万多套的生产能力。该公司生产“美式”和“德式”车轴系 列。然而，据他表示，由于“美式”车轴在大马市场占主导地位，所 以他们在本地只是销售美式半挂车车轴。
J&D如何接近市场?他回答说，由于父亲从事的是维修，他与车身制 造业者和物流公司拥有良好的联系。“我们直接接触终端客户。当然 一开始并不容易，因为永力泰在本地市场是个新的品牌。但我们成功 说服一些公司尝试这个产品，不过我们要等他们用上两年，才能告诉 我们他们对这个产品的看法。因此，这是个漫长的过程，可是我们对
